Sagittarius A*: The First Photo Of The Black Hole At The Center of Our Galaxy!

It's been few years since the very first image of a black hole was released by the Event Horizon Telescope. After that, what we all were hoping for was to see the image of the Milky Way's Supermassive Black Hole Sagittarius A* which is 4 million times massive than our Sun. This black hole is obscured by gas and dust so it was harder to image it. But here comes the good news. The Event Horizon Telescope have released the first ever image of Milky Way's monster black hole.

In this image you can see that there is a central dark region where the hole resides, circled by the light coming from super-heated gas accelerated by immense gravitational forces. For scale, the ring is roughly the size of Mercury's orbit around our star. That's about 60 million km. If you have the fear from black holes then hold on because this monster resides way too long away from our home planet at around 26,000 lights years. So you don't need to worry!
